Hole Lotta Infinity Scarf (Crochet)

I'm back, ya'll!

It's been a bit of an exciting month form me, but I've missed posting free patterns for you guys!
Blogging has been a passion and source of joy in my life, and as several of you already know, I enjoy giving back to the fiber arts community by making free patterns available here on my website - which is something I plan to do for several years to come.

As a means to continue doing so, I recently opened my own Etsy shop where I'm also selling select patterns. The goal is to use the money from my shop to support blog posts that contain patterns absolutely free!  If you'd like to check out the shop, you can find a "Support This Blog" link at the top of this site which will redirect you to my Etsy.

It's my dream to turn crochet into a full time job and share something I love so much with, well, anyone who's interested in learning! So, I'm also excited to announce that I have my very own Youtube channel coming soon where I'll be covering not only basic crochet stitches for those who are just starting out, but I'll also be creating video tutorials for the patterns on this blog, along with crochet skills (such as different cabling techniques) to help other crocheters expand their craft! Stay tuned for updates if you're interested in subscribing!

Today's pattern is a simple infinity scarf that I've created to match the "Hole Lotta Slouchy Hat" pattern that I have for sale in my Etsy store. I'm excited to continue designing patterns for both platforms, and even more excited to expand my creativity and design patterns suitable for all seasons as they come. This scarf is an easy peasy 3 row repeat pattern, but sometimes simple is just the thing we need in our life!

As always, you can find me on Instagram (@i_can_knot_even) where you can tag me in your work! I love sharing the photos you send to me on my page. Don't forget to save this post in your Pinterest boards to save for later! Lastly, you have permission to sell items you make using my patterns, whether you find them here or in my store.

Happy Hooking,

XOXO

- Katie

Lets get started!

Hole Lotta Infinity Scarf Pattern:

Materials:

  • Worsted weight yarn (size 4, on the back of the skein label)
  • 5 mm crochet hook
  • Yarn needle for weaving in ends
Abbreviations:
  • CH- chain
  • DC- Double crochet
  • BPDC - Back post double crochet
  • SLST- Slip stitch
Pattern Notes:
  • CH 1 at the beginning of rounds NEVER counts as a stitch.
  • This pattern can be made larger or smaller as long as the beginning CH is an even number (try CH 80 for a cowl).

Pattern:

CH 170. SLST into the first CH to join.

Round 1: CH 1. In the same stitch, place 1 DC. Place 1 DC in the rest of the stitches around. SLST into the first DC to join.

Round 2: CH 1. BPDC around every stitch until the end of the round. SLST into the top of the first BPDC to join.

Round 3: CH 1. In the same stitch, place **1 DC. Wrap 1 DC around the stitch you just created. Skip one stitch ( you are creating a "hole" by skipping one stitch). Repeat from ** until the end of the round. SLST into the top of the first DC to join.

Round 4: CH 1. In the same stitch, place **1 DC. Then, place 1 DC in the hole space created by the skipped stitch from the previous round. Repeat from ** until the end of the round. SLST into the top of the first DC to join

Round 5: CH 1. BPDC around every stitch until the end of the round. SLST into the top of the first BPDC to join.

Round 6-14: Repeat rounds 3-5 ( repeat these rounds more or less times to increase or decrease the width of the scarf).

Tie off your work and weave in any ends! Great job!
